WELCOME to the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center. Siddha Yoga
is an ancient spiritual tradition passed on through a lineage of Self-realized masters known
as Siddhas, or perfected ones. Swami Chidvilasananda, also known as Gurumayi, is the living
master of this lineage. Siddha Yoga welcomes everyone with respect and love.
Satsang means keeping the company of the Truth. It's a time we set aside to be with others to chant, meditate and absorb ourselves in the wisdom and grace of the Guru. It supports and encourages our spiritual progress.
Shri Guru Gita
This beautiful 'Song of the Guru', a Sanskrit text chant of 182 verses, is traditionally sung every morning in Siddha Yoga ashrams around the world. Its verses describe the nature and transformative power of the Guru-disciple relationship.
Siddha Yoga Celebration Satsang in Honor of Gurupurnima
One of the eight Siddha Yoga holidays, Gurupurnima is dedicated to honoring the Guru. In India, the full-moon day (purnima) of the month of Ashad (July-August) is honored as the most auspicious of the year. This moon's luminous brilliance and perfect form are seen as expressions of the Guru's gift of grace and the attainment of Self-realization.
On Gurupurnima, out of gratitude for the Guru's benevolence, Siddha Yogis focus on the practice of dakshina and celebrate by coming together for a celebration satsang.
